Last night the Mets lost to the cubs. And I'd be angry about it, but the guy who hit the 3 run homerun, that cemented the win, was a struggling part time player. He was only playing because the regular high paid guy didn't feel well. He steps in and hits a home run and had this to say,
“In my mind, I remember Lou telling me to go through with the front foot,”
Pie said. “One swing, but tomorrow I’m going to start and I’ll see tomorrow.
This is a good feeling, something in my life I’ll never forget.”
The joy, the brevity, the uncertainty of the game, the swing, the season. It's a great sport.
