Unlikely Baseball Hero

I would like to salute Todd Jones.

He retired from baseball today saying:

“If you’re a Tigers fan, I’ll never stress you out again. If you’re not a Tigers fan, you’ll never have me as your ace in the hole, convinced I’ll blow a lead against your team.”

Congratulations on owning up to your performance in recent history.

I'd also like to add that Todd pitched very well a few years ago when the Tigers made a run at the world series and he also wrote some excellent articles for Yahoo sports.

Thank you for stepping down like a true competitor and not holding on to past glory to the detriment of your team.
