A sophomore member of Texas A&M University's Parsons Mounted Cavalry was charged Friday with throwing horse feces onto members of the University of Texas band before the A&M-UT football game.

John Richmond Sullivan, 20, was seen by a University Police Department lieutenant throwing a shovel full of horse feces onto band members at Kyle Field at about 10 a.m. Friday, according to an officer's affidavit.

UT band director Robert Carnochan told police that he and the band members did not want to press criminal charges, though they did want Texas A&M to discipline Sullivan, the court documents state.

Sullivan was arrested and charged with criminal mischief because the feces had to be removed by Texas A&M personnel, causing "substantial inconvenience and a pecuniary loss of $50 or more," according to the affidavit. He was released from the Brazos County Jail on Friday afternoon after posting $2,000 bail.

Normally, A&M does not take disciplinary action in a situation like this until an investigation is complete, said David Parrott, dean of student life. But there is no excuse for such behavior, he added.

"We look dimly on any student treating a guest of the university in such a manner that's inconsistent with Aggie values," Parrott said.

Parsons Mounted Cavalry formed in 1973 to revive the legacy of A&M's horse-drawn artillery program. It remains the only collegiate military cavalry unit in the nation.

Texas aMc was the first higher education institution
in the State of Texas, founded in 1876. The University

of Texas was founded in 1883. Heck Prairie View was
founded in 1876 also, but I guess both of these
colleges were an extension of UT since it was founded

These are the men that died and have given each and
everyone of us the opportunity to be ignorant and free
to be a Longhorn.

Just check out the crime statistics on Texas Aggies
campus police and UT, you will see where real people
with class go to college in this great State of Texas.

As for the recent football game that A& M and UT had
this past weekend, A&M beet the Longhorns in just
about every statistic except the score. I wouldn’t
quite say that it was much of a victory because the
Aggies defense was ranked 108th in the nation and UT
as a team was ranked 2nd. The Aggies had more 1st downs,
offensive yards and had 10 more minutes in ball
possession, all from a freshman quarterback that had
not started a game all season. This year the Aggies
had the 16th toughest schedule and UT had the 24th in
the nation. Good luck UT in the big 12 championship,
and if you make it to the Rose Bowl you better pray
for a miracle.

Oh get over it. It is just like sips to go crying to mom over a little crap. Heck most of them probaly have never ever seen a pig parlor much less smelled one. Who is really out in left field here? And to think they have a bull for a mascott. I think they need a poodle. Travis County was the only county in the state to vote against the constitutional ammendment that a marriage is between 1 man and 1 woman. Now who is out of touch with the rest of the state. That makes me want to throw horse puckey all over Travis County.

So...yeah, that was a shitty deal for those t.u. band fags. That being said, Dean Parrot was right in taking immediate action against that student. No self-respecting Aggie should ever do anything to bring dishonor to the school, and Sullivan's actions, whatever the motivation, ceertainly qualify.

t.u. and A&M both have rich histories and a great rivalry. I love these debates, and I'm not above throwing out a few denigrating comments about t-sips, but that's all I'll be throwing. After all, we're Texans, for crying out loud. This ain't Oklahoma. Let's treat each other with a a little more respect.
